A new group of residents wants pedestrian plaza in Flushing

A group of residents in Flushing wants to remove traffic on Roosevelt Avenue between Main Street and Union Street by creating a pedestrian plaza.

Main reasons are due to narrow sidewalks, lack of public space for walking and dangerous bike lanes.

The proposal has been submitted to NYC Dept of Transportation pending review.
