A new enforcement for Queens intersections blocking by drivers will result fines

Starting Monday, March 5, NYPD will issue tickets to the following locations in Queens for drivers blocking the box which is marked around the intersection. The fine will be $115 and possible points. Mayor di Blasio reported the intention is to allow pedestrians to cross intersections without vehicles blocking their way. As part of the program, NYC Dept of Transportation has also installed new signs at the listed intersection to make drivers aware NYPD is there. The following locations in Queens are Queens Boulevard & Skillman Avenue, Northern Boulevard & Queens Boulevard, Queens Boulevard & Roosevelt Avenue, Astoria Boulevard & 31 Street, 21 Street & 49 Avenue, Laurel Hill Boulevard & 65 Place, Queens Midtown Expressway *N S/R & Grand Avenue, Main Street & Roosevelt Avenue, 71 Avenue & Austin Street, 37 Avenue & 138 Street, Metropolitan Avenue & 60 Street and Queens Plaza South (SR) & 28 Street.
