A balance ratio on migrants in NYC for now

The NYC Mayor's Office announced hotels housing migrants in NYC are in the stage of phasing out. One of the locations by the JFK Airport in Queens, Quality Inn is on the list and the owner is not happy.

The city is now working on the resettlement package with resources available to help migrants to housing around mainly in Queens and Brooklyn.

Starting next year, hotels will be used in the event of an emergency.

This came after the Mayor lost the case of bus companies being blocked coming to the city from Texas. A state court ruled that NYC cannot stop busing migrants due to sanctuary city law and violating the right to travel nationwide.

The city sued 17 charter companies and sought $708 million and no word if the Mayor plans to appeal.

The Mayor is optimistic the ambitious project, City of Yes will be voted to pass by the NYC Council, most who came from Puerto Rico from the annual Somos event feeling refreshed.

If the City of Yes passes, then migrants will be housed around private homes in NYC with reimbursement by taxpayers.

This includes Creedmoor and local residents in Bellerose can house them. However, all tenants disputes must be forwarded to court and not the city which can take years.

As of now, only two states, Illinois and Massachusetts are blocking deportations when President Trump takes office.

The NY Governor is still deciding.
