3 names registered as city council candidates after local member retiring

Christopher Fuentes-Padilla, Jaslin Kaur and Linda Lee, all Democrats are the three names registered to run for NYC Council for District 23 covering northeast Queens. The current council member is Barry Grodenchik who opted to retire after serving his term by December 31, 2021. Another three more names will be confirmed by the Board of Elections in the coming weeks for the November 2021 election. Anyone can run for the election as long a registered address of residence is submitted. Grodenchik stated he want to spend more time with his family. So far, there are no Republican candidates yet. For NYC, the direction is moving toward Democrat Socialism and already racked up endorsements with winners in the same category.
