2 year old died after hit by vehicle in Bayside

Police reported a 2 year old girl died after being hit by a car in Bayside. It happened on Sunday around 10pm. Police stated the child and her mother had been removing packages from the truck of a vehicle and then the child wandered to the front. Then the driver, the mother’s boyfriend, drove forward when the trunk was closed and hit her. The child died at the local hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
