14 people busted for construction fraud including Queens residents

NYC Dept of Investigation working with Brooklyn DA's office reported on Wednesday, October 25 of 14 people arrested and charged with construction fraud. Two of the arrested are NYC Building Dept inspectors and the rest are property management companies, developers and a private asbestos inspector. Brooklyn DA's office reported of three different criminal cases involving false permits, passing inspections, cover-up of illegal paper works, bribery and fake permits. The first one is fraudulent asbestos inspections, second is charged illegal plumbing work and the third is bribery. The defendants are Alexander Kogen, 60, Yoel Roth, 32, Lawrence Berlianshik, 27 and Yehuda Unger, 36, all of Brooklyn and are building owners and employees. The two NYC Building Dept inspectors are Hiram Beza, 55 of Queens and Dean Mulzac, 53 of Brooklyn. Additional property managers and developers names are Ruben Badalov, 36 of Queens, Yoel Blum, 35 of Spring Valley, Zev Chaskelson, 44 of Brooklyn, Yahiel Firgiyev, 31 of Queens, Matan Hacohen, 37 of Bellerose and Amritpal Sandhu, 49 of Cedarhurst, Nassau County. The master plumber identified as Henry Samuels, 58 of Rosedale.
