10 year old on the SSP found in Queens

Police shut off the Southern State Parkway in both directions last night around 10:30pm. This is after Merrick in Nassau County when calls came in for a 10 year old on the parkway without shoes and jacket crying. Several motorists stopped the vehicles but the child escaped. As of today afternoon police reported the child was found in Queens and is at the hospital. Police are now working with child care service to investigate further. Ongoing investigation.
