Rikers Island on lock down after 2 inmates possibly escaped as they are not accounted for. Chopper hovering above. Heavy police presence around the area. PAPD on high alert at LaGuardia Airport. Searching for 2 perps in orange jumpsuits. Sources reported two inmates were transferred from AMKC Jail at 1919 Hazen Street also located in Rikers Island but their whereabouts are unknown. Ongoing investigation. Update - One in custody. Searching for the other one. He has been identified as Naquan Hill, 24 held for burglary charges. Five inmates picked up fight each other to distract guards and climbed over a perimeter fence. Manhunt underway. Update - Hill found and placed in custody inside Rikers Island. He didn't make it off the island.

Jamaica - In front of 112-18 on 178th Street, an NYPD officer on duty struck and dragged by a vehicle. Heavy police presence at the scene. Ongoing investigation. Transported to Jamaica Hospital. Police responded to a domestic disturbance at the address. The suspect armed with a gun ran out and chase occurred. Then the suspect got in his car and tried to take off. The suspect was caught after chase and also taken to hospital with injuries.

Lanze Mason, 28, died last night around 11pm on Grand Central Parkway westbound near Jewel Avenue Exit in Forest Hills after his motorcycle he was riding hit a vehicle in front of him. Police stated Mason was speeding and lost control with his 2013 BMW motorcycle. The car that was hit, a 2014 Toyota RAV4 had two people inside and they were taken to local hospital with neck and back injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

"I am pregnant and you can't do this to me" said the victim but the suspect stabbed her anyway in Corona. This is the incident at subway station of 7 train at 111th Street where a 26 year old woman was slashed with a knife while waiting for her boyfriend around 11:45am on Tuesday. The suspect, Scott Gooden, 26 didn't care of her situation and took off with her bag. Gooden was arrested few blocks from the incident when slew of police vehicles canvassed and found him matching the description.

Former NYPD officer cleared of any wrongdoings at Newbrigdge Wine and Liquor store in North Bellmore. The liquor store owned by 69 year old former NYPD confronted 3 men after one stole a bottle on Monday night. When they left the store, the former officer followed them outside with a gun and told the suspect driver to turn off the vehicle and return the merchandise. The suspect refused and the car moved dragging the officer who then shot the driver. The other two suspects escaped on foot and police are still searching for them. The injured suspect has been charged with slew of crimes. The officer has not been charged and the store is now open for business.

Brooklyn man, Oscar Morel, 35, is taken to Kew Gardens Court from 107th Pct in Fresh Meadows where he was under custody for questioning for the death of two people in Ozone Park earlier in the night. Ozone Park - There will be a meeting on August 23 at 6pm at Queens Borough Office, Borough Hll, Room 213 for the hearing of a non-profit firm, Breaking Ground that cares for the homeless people. The organization is in the process of using the location, 100-32 Atlantic Avenue as a place to have 75 beds to house homeless people on temporary basis.
