iPhone thefts continue to increase and City Council is stepping in

The year 2012 saw 20% of burglaries, robberies and grand larcenies in NYC were iPhone or Apple products according to NYPD. More than 15,000 Apple related items were stolen due to high resale value. Now NYC Council is debating a law to force pawn shops and resellers including Internet to share inventory with police on regular basis. Any irregularity will lead to arrest or close of shops.
