Your money hard at work for the 2021 elections

The NYC Campaign Finance announced today a total of $95,729,574 has been allotted for the various candidates for the upcoming election. This is part of the matching fund for candidates whose donors were purposely small instead of working to get donations from corporations and developers. Typical matching fund is 8 to 1 so for every dollar donated, the city pays 8 bucks from taxpayers. Almost $100 million is a record for this year's election where the city council will have the newest members after current ones are going away due to term limits.
