You will not smoke in public parks in NY

The NY Governor signed a new law no one will be allowed to smoke in public parks and beaches statewide. This includes ahem, weed and other tobacco flavored products.

Any smoke products will be enforced with a fine of $50.

Only two places are not enforced, Adirondacks and Catskills.

For NYC, the Mayor's Office stated that city's park officials will not enforce since it's a state regulation. This means state officials can enforce in city's parks if violations are tracked.

The same with Long Island already in law.

This is for NYC from Parks Dept, If someone refuses to stop smoking in a park, beach or other area where smoking is prohibited, New Yorkers are encouraged to inform a Parks Department employee or a Park Enforcement Officer if one is available. Otherwise, complaints can be made by calling 311.
