You can sue instead of calling cops for backyard camera

Starting September 15, a new law will become effective in the entire New York State. Its called Backyard Surveillance Bill allowing neighbors to sue each other for having cameras causing to privacy concern. If a neighbor believe the cameras are causing invasion of privacy, then the battle can be fought in court for relief according to local politician, Ed Braunstein who sponsored the bill. Governor Cuomo signed the bill on Wednesday, August 16. There is no need to call police or politicians but lawyers who can take the matter to court to settle. The law also reports of being followed, alarmed, annoyed or harassed including threatened, neighbor can go to court. This is not just for homeowners but renters living in apartment, residents of coop and condos as well.
