Work without permit caused explosion at a home in Whitestone

Police reported explosion after a worker was removing a gas tank in a home on Francis Lewis Blvd and 17th Avenue in Whitestone. It happened around 8:45am. The city's building dept reported of work without permit posted at the home. One person was taken to hospital with injuries.
