Woman robbed while walking in New Hyde Park

It happened on Sunday, July 23 around 9:30am when police were called to Central Blvd and Bryant Avenue near New Hyde Park. The victim, a 55 year old female was walking when a suspect followed her from behind and stole her purse. The woman was not injured. Police reported the victim's purse contained bank cards and cash. Suspect is described as male, black, 6', thin build. Ongoing investigation.
