Woman robbed on Hillside Avenue in Bellerose

This evening, a female victim waiting for a family to pick up on Hillside Avenue was robbed. This is by the bus stop eastbound near Commonwealth Blvd in Bellerose.

The suspect described as male, Hispanic, sneaked behind the victim and robbed of her jewelry and other items.

The suspect then ran to the inside street on 246 Street where the suspect took off on a moped.

Not a single driver in the vehicle while waiting for the red light witnessed the incident offered help due to fear of their safety.

Shortly, the family member witnessed the incident and followed the victim to the inside street.

The victim is now traumatized by the incident.

A witness stated the suspect is frequent in the area and lives at the migrant shelter.

This is also a frequent incident in Bellerose.

Residents are advised to stay alert.
