Woman raped and suspect arrested in Woodside

Police arrested Berten Garcia, 28 and charged with rape and other sexual violations on Saturday, October 7am in Woodside. A 17 year old victim was getting off the subway and was heading home when Garcia allegedly grabbed her from behind. Then he covered her mouth and displayed a knife. The victim was dragged to an abandoned construction area and the raped her. The victim managed to escape and saw her mother waiting for her. They called 911. After searching around, police found Garcia on a corner and taken into custody. He also had cocaine in his pocket. He is held on $50,000 bail.
