According to authorities on Saturday, a 64-year-old woman broke her leg when she sprang from her third-story window to get away from her son who was carrying a knife.

Authorities on Saturday were still seeking for the 36-year-old son, who has been detained more than 30 times, authorities said.

At before 10:30 p.m., police were called to the woman's residence on Shore Blvd. close to 20th Ave. in Astoria, where they discovered her lying on the ground with a fractured leg.

Her son had already vanished when they hurried to the apartment on the third floor.
