Willets Point on the prowl

The NYC Independent Budget Report released new details at the redevelopment of Willets Point, once a haven for junkyard in Flushing. All the budgets listed are analyzed with taxpayer funds.

The Mayor announced the new stadium of soccer will be called Etihad Park under a 20 year agreement to use the name, Etihad Airways exclusively which is set to open in 2027. Terms were not disclosed.

Also, today a historic labor agreement came to term for Willets Point. As per NYC Economic Development, a Project Labor Agreement for public infrastructure improvements is in place to create union jobs. This will cost over $1 billion from roadways, sewers, public spaces, and of course, affordable housing units.

As for casino plan, it's wait and watch.
