Whitestone woman died after struck by vehicle in Eastport

The SCPD reported a Whitestone woman died after a box truck hit her in Long Island. It happened today afternoon when the victim was standing next to her vehicle that was parked by a farm stand on Route 111 north of Sunrise Highway in Eastport. The 78 year old victim was taken to a local hospital and died of injuries. A worker at the farm stand didn't suffer any injuries. Ongoing investigation.
