We are hiring signs disappearing fast in NYC

Automation is growing in NYC and jobs requiring humans are on the decline. One time, the juggernaut Amazon was the talk of town with a union plan giving many freelancers the opportunity to speak for profits. Now they are all gone with no work.

The Maspeth location of the fulfillment center is all quiet and Amazon continues to expand with robots replacing humans to speed up the process with deliveries. In the name of safety and for the good of employees, most of the employees were laid off, transferred and demoted to outside deliveries. The Maspeth facility handles over 100,000 packages daily and now has less than 500 employees compared to peak but added more than 1,000 delivery manpower. The conveyor belts are replaced with auto divert to aisle (ADTA) replacing pickers and stowers.

The same with Uber and Lyft where Tesla is coming out with automated vehicles soon in NYC that requires no drivers.

However, construction jobs remain steady with the real estate industry. Same with city jobs from sanitation to public transportation. The demand is less since the pay levels have not been upgraded. Many employment agencies are finding it difficult to hire recruits based on experience in today's demand and the lack of classes is the main obstacle.
