Water break in the process of under repair at Glen Oaks

Road has been closed on 255th Street and 75th Avenue of water pipe break which happened last week. According to workers at Glen Oaks Village Co-op, the water connected to the main line broke due to clogging which is usually caused by excess toilet papers, condoms and wet napkins. Management reported insurance was not taken due to additional monthly expenses to NYC Water Dept. The residents around that area are unable to use toilets due to repairs. According to NYC Dept of Environmental Protection, a regular routine of drainage of sewer lines can prevent the damage such as this one. The board members all being senior citizens are not welcome to changes according to many residents living in the coop.
