Village of Floral Park settled 200K for tort

A female victim who was injured from a fall in the Village of Floral Park, a small town on the border of Queens in Nassau County received $200,000 lump sum as per court order. The order was made by the presiding judge. Of $200,000, $179,000 will go to lawyers representing the female and $21,000 will cover medical expenses.

From one of the local trustees who says this is one of the largest payout for the village despite arguing in court but lawyers demanded more for their time which the judge agreed which was ongoing for a few months.

During last year's April 15 meeting, the Floral Park Village Board of Trustees approved a $34,673,796 municipal budget for fiscal year 2025–26, an increase of nearly $1.2 million from the prior year.
