Vehicle accident with one dead on the LIE eastbound

The NCPD reported around 3am, multiple vehicle accidents with one dead on the Long Island Expressway eastbound by Exit 40. This is in Jericho, Nassau County.

The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy.

EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

Highway CIS is continuing with the investigation.

Traffic is opening up eastbound as of this morning.
