Vehicle accident with one dead involving motorcyclist in Huntington

Police reported vehicle accident in Huntington with one dead. It happened on September 1 around 3:30am on Jericho Turnpike and Melville Road involving a motorcyclist. Reported the motorcyclist ran a red light and hit another Uber vehicle. The motorcyclist died at the local hospital identified as Gerson Mendez-Cruz, 20 of Greenlawn. A passenger inside the Uber vehicle, a 22 year old woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Ongoing investigation.
