Update on the Bronx tragedy

The members of NYC Council and other elected officials are protesting the landlord's fault without disclosing it to the public. Many are silent by not pointing fingers since they know they will be in trouble. So far, the details of the building owners have not been pointed out by elected officials due to fear.

The building is a state supervised affordable housing project. According to the law, which no one knows, it's the responsibility of the state to make sure the building was maintained but never checked nor sent any housing inspectors.

Now comes the sad part, tenants complained of problems by calling 311 and the city forwarded to the state to act. The state then forwarded papers to the city but in-between landed into the governor's and mayor's offices as routine checks because of who is who. This is where the delays occured.

There is no complaint hotline to the state leaving many tenants in despair.

One of the owners of the building is under Mayor Adams transition team as a courtesy package in affordable housing.

Again for those who don't know what affordable housing is. It's a government favor to avoid developers from paying property taxes. In return allocate some units for the low income families.

Today, the Mayor's Office reported 17 deaths instead of 19.
