Union Turnpike is toast in Fresh Meadows

Police closed off Union Turnpike eastbound by 179 Street reporting drag racing caused outdoor dining and a brand new bakery with damages. Multiple police, EMS and ESU are on the scene. EMS is checking for injuries.

Now reporting this was a single vehicle accident that resulted the damages. The driver hit the outdoor dining and then backed out to escape hit the bakery. Shortly he was arrested.

At the same time, local politician Nily Rozic's office was burglarized on Union Turnpike near Parsons Blvd.
