Two separate hit and run in Elmhurst and Jackson Heights

This afternoon around 2:30pm, the NYPD reported a hit and run in Elmhurst. This is on 53rd Avenue and Van Horn Street. A mother and a child were struck by the driver who took off from the scene.

Last night around 2am, the NYPD reported two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle, also a hit and run.

This is on Northern Blvd and 80th Street.

The NYPD reported the driver was moving reckless on Northern Blvd. Shortly, the vehicle crashed into a parking vehicle. The driver took off. Police apprehended the passenger and was taken into custody.

EMS transported all the injured to local hospitals.
