Two separate fatality investigation on Long Island

The SCPD reported two separate fatalities on Long Island. Around 12pm, a dead body was found by Peconic River Campground in Calverton.

This morning around 5am, the Long Island Expressway eastbound reported a single vehicle accident with one dead. This is by Exit 49 in Melville. Police reported the driver lost control and struck a tree. Four people from the same vehicle were taken to local hospitals with injuries.

The medical examiner will conduct two separate autopsies to determine the cause of death.

Both incidents are under investigation.
