Two police officers shot in Springfield Gardens

Police have closed off 179th Street and 145th Avenue in Springfield Gardens reporting 2 NYPD officers shot. This is involving a shooting erupted between a suspect who was also shot and dead at the scene. Both officers are transporting to Jamaica Hospital. Road closures are setting up for both to transport.

Reporting one officer shot in the leg and the other in hand. Both are non-life threatening injuries. Another suspect is on the hunt.

Chopper, K-9 and ESU are on the scene.

Call came in for domestic violence and shots rang out during confrontation.

Update - The suspect in the shooting of two police officers in Queens is dead. Police were helping his wife gather her belongings from the home when he opened fire. He worked as a CUNY peace officer.
