Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the men who stole money during a quick-change scam from two businesses this month.

Two men distracted a cashier during a transaction on February 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Lowe’s Home Improvement, located at 2796 Route 112 in Medford, by asking for change of a $100 bill. The pair changed their mind multiple times about the denomination of change they wanted back while also claiming they were shortchanged during their purchase, stealing $650.

The pair fled in a silver Chrysler Pacifica without license plates. A short time later, the pair  stole $300 during a similar scam at Lowe’s Home Improvement, located at 2150 Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook.
