Two dead after rip tide in Long Island beaches on Sunday

On Sunday, July 12, Nassau County beach officials reported three dead at beaches after rip tide. Around 8am, calls came in for swimmers in distress at one of the beaches in Long Beach. Three swimmers were pulled out and one died. Around 9am, another call came in for distressed swimmer at Cupsogue Beach in Westhampton by Suffolk County police. A male, 57 died shortly. Also, in Long Beach, on July 9, one died after trapped on a jetty with others.
