Two arrested following search warrant in Van Buren resulting in seizure of illegal firearms and narcotics

On October 27, 2025, members of the New York State Police Troop D Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) arrested two individuals. They recovered illegal firearms, controlled substances, and U.S. currency following the execution of a search warrant at 54 Van Ness Road South in the town of Van Buren.

 The search led to the seizure of an illegally possessed assault rifle, a New York-compliant assault rifle, two high-capacity magazines, more than 100 amphetamine pills, multiple multicolored methamphetamine pills, $7,218 in U.S. currency, various rounds of ammunition, and compliant firearm magazines.

During the search, investigators also determined that Harvey E. Black, age 71, of Baldwinsville, NY, who resides at the address and is currently on parole, was in possession of controlled substances with intent to sell. He was subsequently arrested and charged.
