Trucks to get increased clearance on three bridges in Queens

NYS Dept of Transportation Commissioner Paul Karas reported of $2.5 million dollars for increased clearances for trucks on three bridges in Queens. They are RFK, LIE and the BQE direction bridges. The truck clearance will be increased so they don't have to exit to local streets where traffic congestion cause residents to complain. Instead trucks can remain on the highway for continued traffic. Astoria Blvd, Queens Blvd, Northern Blvd and Broadway are the four routes scheduled to be clear by next year. The project costs $2.5 million taxpayers fund.
