Today is overdose awareness day says the Governor

The NY Governor is heavy at heart with all New Yorkers who have lost a loved one to overdose.

For the year 2022, 501 overdose deaths were reported in Queens.

The Bronx led in the borough with 909.

Fentanyl accounted for 47 percent of overdose deaths in Queens.

In Long Island, Narcan training is being offered to the public on how to identify a victim and administer.

Meanwhile, the US Attorney suggested a crackdown on safe injection centers in NYC legally operating in the city after a federal prosecutor stated they are illegal. Protests were held today in the city.

As for FDA, more vaccines are under work for overdose from opioid and fentanyl beside Narcain to expand the market by the pharma companies.

In NYC, nonprofits are raking taxpayers funds to handle the growing crisis of overdose which shows the increase while not showing any results of decrease.

2017: 1482 od cases.

2018: 1452 od cases.

2019: 1497 od cases.

2020: 2013 od cases.

2021: 2,668 od cases.

2022: Estimated 3,000 plus cases.
