Three year old girl injured after rock fell from overbridge in Bellerose

Bellerose - Police reported a rock fell from over bridge on Cross Island Parkway and Superior Road injuring a three year old girl who was in the passenger's seat of a 2015 Jeep. It happened on Friday, May 19 around 8:30pm when they were heading southbound Cross Island Parkway. The mother who was driving heard a loud noise after Superior Road and pulled over to notice her daughter was injured. Then called 911. After investigation, police reported someone threw the rock from Superior Road to Cross Island Parkway. The child has been treated with scraps and cuts but no major injuries. Police found the rock and the investigation is ongoing. Reported 10pm.
