Thefts to robberies increasing on Hillside Avenue

Police reported multiple thefts from store shopping lots to residential homes around Hillside Avenue vicinity. On May 27, police were called to Hillside Avenue between Langdale Street and 263rd Street for a male acting erratically with a backpack. Two more also on Hillside Avenue between 260 and 249 Streets. All three were take to hospitals and released. Near Cross Island Parkway, all four wheels stolen from a Honda. The same incident was reported near a driveway and police apprehended four suspects who were then released without bail. Around 11pm, police were called to 212 Street for armed robbery of a civilian at the gas station. Police reported there were three suspects with backpacks. Ongoing investigation.
