Thefts from auto continue to rise from Bellerose to the border

On February 12, police reported an owner of vehicle alerted 911 after several items were missing on Union Turnpike and 237th Street. The same incident reported on 80th Avenue and 263rd Street around 12pm. On the 15th, more than five vehicles were broken into on 268th Street from 83rd Avenue to Hillside Avenue. On the 16th, theft from vehicle reported on Hillside Avenue and 235th Street around 8pm. On the 24th, the same incident reported on 88th Road near 249th Street. Police advise all residents to lock their vehicles.
