The official record of people left NYC forever and forever is 419,875 since the pandemic in March 2020 according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration that oversees registered mover companies.
This does not include all data except those use accredited movers in NYC as part of Long Island Moving & Storage Association and New York State Movers & Warehousemen's Association.
About 95% reported of not coming back to NYC at all.
