The new record for NYC homeless population is 63 495

According to the new homeless report released by the Coalition for the Homeless that work closely with NYC and NYS has reported as of December 2017, the homeless population is at all time high with 63,495. The mayor's office reported more works need to be done with its ambitious project of affordable housing by allocating 10% to homeless. Also, the mayor's office confirmed the plan is going smooth as usual and their current goal is to reduce the number by 2,500. NYC Dept of Homeless record shows Queens currently has 8,731 homeless residents, 10,318 housed in almost 40 hotels and the locations are not disclosed.
