The long awaited speed camera arrived on Union Turnpike

The NYC Dept of Transportation installed a speed camera on Union Turnpike eastbound before 263rd Street in Floral Park.

Residents are in a relief now awaiting for the westbound to have one too.

This route is one of the most complaints on the list of the DOT and more cameras will be added to Langdale in both directions soon.

Also, the DOT is reviewing the plan of making no left turn on 264 Street from eastbound Union Turnpike. This is due to rush drivers to the hospital route when 263rd Street left turn is delayed.

The DOT Commissioner stated main roads will not be affected by the new Sammy's Law which was passed to make speed lower to 20mph.
