Teen charged for shooting neighbor s dog in Howard Beach

Police arrested Joshua Marte, 18 of Howard Beach and charged with shooting neighbor's dog while playing around with a gun.

The incident was reported on Monday morning around 9am at a home on Lahn Street and Huron Street.

After police arrived, the Marte ran away. Both homes had windows shattered with bullets.

At the same time, the neighbor's dog, a Pomeranian was bleeding inside the home.

Police recovered the gun from the other home which was secured by the suspect's mother.

Police stated, “It’s probably an accidental discharge, fooling around with the guns. But he ended up, like I said, shots fired through a window, almost hits a woman, shoots a dog,”
