Targeted home invasion in Richmond Hill had 5 hour standoff with police

Police were called to a home in Richmond Hill reporting hostage situation. Further investigation confirmed of 2 armed suspects inside holding 4 women and baby hostage in a home invasion.

The incident started around 9pm at an apartment on 125 Street near Liberty Avenue on November 17 when one male suspect entered inside after ringing door bell. Once inside, the suspect was searching for money hidden by a victim who lived there until died of cancer last month. From there, another male suspect entered and the woman with baby alerted police of break-in. By 2am, both suspects unable to find the loot surrendered to police. All the victims were released after suspects demanded pizza. Charges are pending for both suspects.
