Takeover attempt at the location next to the mall in Elmhurst

The NYPD reported an attempted takeover plan posted on social media was announced at the local Queens Place Mall on Queens Blvd next to the largest mall. The incident was reported on Saturday afternoon. From witnesses, over 100 teens tried to enter the location and police arrived shortly. This is when some teens ran out while NYPD locked the doors preventing more from entering on the main entrance. Another door section opened for all to leave. There were no arrests and EMS attended to shoppers who were a bit shaken from the rampage inside. The other mall, Queens Center, was not affected.

This is the third incident in NY after Valley Stream and the Bronx. The first incident at the Bronx reported over 500 teens with 20 arrests and the Valley Stream mall has 12 arrests so far. Long Island police have hired an additional social media team to track all activities related to this incident and prepared this time according to both county's commissioners announced at a press meet last week.

Update - The NYPD say two people were arrested from the Queens incident and charged with misdemeanor later released without bails.
