Syracuse is inviting gang members

Syracuse, which is in NY is inviting up to 50 gang members to join a pilot program, The Community Violence Interruption Policy by paying $100 to $250 per week to behave and be good without committing crimes.

This is Mayor Walsh's new program to reduce violence in the city due to half of the murders in the last two years were gang related. To join the program, a gang member must be between 18 and 24 in the city. Each gang member will be provided a safe place to discuss with love by working with a case manager.

The final approval lies with The Syracuse Common Council who will need to vote in the Summer to move forth.

The NY Governor is watching this move and hopefully it will be approved to follow for the rest of NY. Let's see what the NYC Mayor will say if the bill pass.
