Suspect wanted for scamming a Bayside resident

The NYPD reported a scamming incident in Bayside where an 85 year old victim lost $1,700 cash on November 6. According to detectives, the victim went to the bank on Bell Blvd to withdraw money and then walked to the bus stop. This is when the suspect approached the victim and dropped a few coins on the ground and the victim obliged to pick them up. Then handed the coins to the suspect who walked away. Shortly, the victim realized the money withdrawn was gone. The victim called 911.

EMS reported no injuries to the victim but was visibly shaken.

The NYPD released surveillance pictures asking for the public's help with information. Also, the NYPD advises seniors to stay alert of scammers in the area.
