Suspect wanted for posing as cop in Flushing

Flushing - An 82 year old man was scammed out of $700 outside the parking lot of Stop and Shop in Flushing on Saturday, June 3 in the afternoon by a man posing as a cop. The suspect pulled up next to the victim and showed some kind of id from the phone stating he is undercover cop. From there, the suspect told the victim he didn't make a full stop and was going to tow the vehicle away if not paid the $700 fine. The victim complied and went to the ATM machine to withdraw the money. The suspect drove the victim to the nearest ATM. The suspect is described as male, white in his 40s driving a mini-van. Reported 9am.
