Suspect wanted for attacking an outdoor patron in Astoria

Police released surveillance picture of a suspect wanted for attacking a 16 year old female who was sitting outside an outdoor dining in Astoria. It happened on Monday on Ditmars Blvd by 33rd Street at a sushi location. The suspect came from behind and placed the victim in a chokehold.

The victim suffered injuries but refused medical attention at the scene.

If seen, call 911.

Update - The suspect is in custody. Police reported the suspect is homeless and charges are pending.
