Suspect wanted for assault and rape in Flushing

The NYPD released the surveillance pictures of a suspect wanted for assaulting a female victim, 53 and then raping her.

The incident was reported on July 14 around 10:45pm in the vicinity of Main Street near 40th Road. 

The suspect, male, Hispanic in his 20s approached the victim from behind and then assaulted her in the head and face many times. Then dragged her to the corner and raped her.

The victim was taken to a local hospital now in stable condition.

Police stated the suspect is frequent around the train station.

As of this year since July 14 there were 880 rapes and assaults involving sex crimes. For 2023, there were 796 total incidents.

Transit crime involving sex attacks has risen to all time high from public buses to subways.
