Suspect in custody for the Forest Hills murder

Police arrested David Bonola, 44 of South Ozone Park last night and charged with homicide, criminal tampering and weapon possession. Bonola was working as a handyman and was in an alleged relationship with the victim, Orsolya Gaal, 51 of Forest Hills.

Bonola allegedly confessed to the crime during the interrogation last night at the local precinct.

Bonola is a handyman who lived near her home. He was in the bar with her the night she died. It was his usual hangout but he was always alone in the past. This is where they met and acquainted.

Police reported the boot and blood trace matched after the victim’s body was dragged in a duffel bag on Sunday around 4:30am after being stabbed 60 times. The body was dumped on Metropolitan Avenue under the Jackie Robinson Parkway near Union Turnpike. Police also confirmed there was no break in to the home during the incident and police sources stated there was an argument in the basement of the home that night.

The Queens District Attorney will release the full statement afterward.
