Suspect driver at LIJ in NHP under heavy evaluation

Police reported a female, 29, ran a red light and then struck multiple pedestrians in Manhattan. Then took off toward Queens when another crash occurred on the Long Island Expressway eastbound by the Clearview Expressway where she was taken into custody. She was then transported to the LIJ in New Hyde Park pending charges while undergoing evaluation.

The first incident occurred in Midtown Manhattan Sunday night. Over 12 people are in the hospital as of Monday.

Police stated there was no alcohol involved and the investigation continues.
